"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." ~ Leo Buscaglia In order to provide residents the tools to reclaim their lives, The Crossroads, Inc. needs continuing help and generosity from residents and businesses in the Valley. There are four ways that you can help The Crossroads', Inc. residents recover their lives, families and jobs: Make a DonationThe need for recovery facilities is growing. This adds tremendous strain upon the critical services The Crossroads provides. You can make a difference! Whether you choose a one time donation or an ongoing commitment, what you give matters. Weekly, monthly or annual giving allows The Crossroads to expand their programs and reach more people in need. Your generosity helps put lives together one person at a time. The Steve Mertens Scholarship ProgramThe Steve Mertens Scholarship Program was founded in 1999 by a group of visionaries on The Crossroads Board of Directors. The group wanted to start a scholarship program to assist The Crossroads residents and alumni in achieving their lifelong dream of attending college, technical or vocational training. The program is available due to generous donations from individuals and corporations like Signature Technology Group, Inc. Programs like these are an example of the extraordinary commitment of individuals and organizations to the mission of The Crossroads, Inc. and further separate us from the traditional perception of a half way house. Education is a vital and crucial addition to a recipient’s program, strengthening their sobriety and adding to feelings of self-esteem and worth. (Back to top) Pay it ForwardPay it Forward gives a two-week scholarship to any resident at any facility who is willing, but without any financial support. During these two weeks the new resident will be required to get a job, and follow The Crossroads program completely. This will give any person who has a desire to change his or her life to come to The Crossroads regardless of economic circumstances. In return, once the resident has a job and is doing well, he or she will make a extra payment of $3 per week which will go directly to the Pay it Forward fund-which will be used only to help the next newcomer. Here is how you can help – we need to raise $100,000 to start this fund. Once funded, the resident payments will keep the fund replenished. Giving to this fund means you can be assured that all of your money goes directly to the benefit of the new residents who have nothing. Your donation will not be used for anything else. Please help us give a hand-up to someone who really needs it. (Back to top) VolunteerWe're always looking for volunteers to lend a helping hand.
